Terms and Conditions

This agreement is entered into by any parent or carer of a person who is a member of ‘me&u youth club’, a club which caters specifically for autistic young people.

The aim of the club is to provide a safe space for the members to socialise together, develop their skills and have fun in the process.  All volunteer staff are required to complete safeguarding training and are, at all times, supported by a DBS checked member of senior volunteer/member of staff.

Safety and inclusivity are central to our core values and we follow strict health and safety guidelines.  The venue and activities are risk assessed and all identified risks are mitigated.

Care of the club members is not available on a 1 to 1 basis. Members should be able to manage their own personal care and communication. Please speak to the designated safeguarding lead if you wish to discuss.

All members have a responsibility to treat the venue and its property with respect and must not wilfully cause loss or damage.  Wilful loss or damage caused by a member must be paid for in full and will be documented.

The registration form for each member must be completed as comprehensively as possible and all religious, dietary and behavioral needs must be documented on the membership form and brought to the attention of a member of staff if anything changes.

The club has a zero tolerance policy on bullying, violence towards other members, volunteers and staff.  This includes any form of harassment, discrimination, defamation, cyber abuse, verbal or physical aggression or violence.  We do not permit any item or substance to be brought to club including but not limited to:- alcohol, drugs, weapons of any kind (including craft knives and fireworks) nor anything else which could be deemed as inappropriate.

Our procedure for dealing with any breaches of club rules are as follows:

  • 1st Warning: Verbal warning and the parent/carer/guardian will be informed.

  • 2nd Warning: Meeting with the designated safeguarding lead and a written warning will be issued.

  • 3rd Warning: Members' can be either temporarily or permanently barred, based on the discretion of the designated safeguarding lead.
